The save-game must be put in to the ScummVM's own folder (Idon't recall if you had to put it in a sub-folder though).

I suppose this is an obvious question but... Have all of you tried just choosing the word selection "We'll all avoid scurvy if we eat an orange" ? Because that's the way to normally end the singing.
"Who’ll make his mark
The captain cried
To the devil drink a toast
We’ll glut the hold
With cups of gold
And we’ll feed the sea with ghosts" -Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Pirates

I kept clicking the bottom one until it came up with
"We'll surely avoid scurvy if we all eat an orange"
Click that and they won't be able to find anything to rhyme with it (nothing rhymes with the words orange, silver, purple or month. I read it in a Christmas cracker).

Good luck! :D

Ok, as a few people haven't realised this, I'll just clarify why the original poster couldn't keep clicking until they saw the "Orange" option.

Its a bug.

Some copies of the game seem to have a bug where the "Orange" option never appears. As such, progress cannot be made, hence the Captain Pinkbeard's advice.

Sorry about the tone of this post, its just annoying to see people not quite read the topic properly :P

This happened to me also. I downloaded a exe file of MI3, and I could use the save file to get past it.

Sounds like its to make you actually buy the game if you want to keep playing.
I hope this isn't like one of those old fashioned micro-waves. Those things could pop a hamster good.
